My family and I recently moved from Florida to New York. I have two little ones and, as many parents I’m sure can relate, I found myself just getting through each day. I was just doing what needed to be done; work, laundry, bills, food, bathe, sleep (or no sleep). I didn’t even realize at the time - because I was so busy doing - but I wasn’t taking any time to enjoy anything and I definitely wasn’t taking the time to think about anything other than getting through each day. Eventually it caught up to me and I felt drained and burnt out. Finally I decided I needed to get out and do something for myself.
In November, I attended an Introduction to Essential Oils class. During the class I was introduced to essential oils, like for real, not just "here this smells nice" but rather "here please let me share this with you because it has made such an incredible impact on my life and I want you to have that experience too!"
After being introduced to the oils, I immediately started using them and quickly felt the changes, both physically and emotionally. Because my husband is a doctor and because I totally geek out on PubMed, I understood the science of the oils and what they could do right away but I have since realized another extremely powerful aspect of incorporating them into my daily life, the power of my intent.
By taking a moment to identify what is bothering me, whether it be emotional or physical or both, I am acknowledging myself and what I am feeling in the present. Then the act and the process of deciding which oil I need and how I want to use it, that is me recognizing what I want or need and really owning it. I have started putting my intent and desire out there into the universe. I've begun to respond intentionally to myself, and help myself, rather than just react or dismiss. I am connecting, my life is connecting, and what I need is finding me because I am asking for it.
Today I can already list a number of reasons I am thankful for going to that class in November and the list just keeps growing. I’ve had so many positive changes in myself and my life. Now, I get to be the one sharing information and experiences with you and I absolutely love that.
